We’re so incredibly happy for Richard on winning Aurora, and are so pleased to know that this will now be Richards new home!
We asked Richard if he could give us a few words to explain what winning Aurora meant to him and how he came across Land Pirate Conversions and here’s what he had to say –
“I was introduced to the Land Pirate competition by my best friend as we both have a mutual love for VWs, and it has always been our dream to own a newer, well-converted campervan. Currently, I live in a camper, but unfortunately, as it’s an old T4, it’s been having its fair share of problems lately. In fact, on the day of the competition, my van had actually broken down, and I was feeling very low.
To cheer me up, my best friend suggested we buy some dinner and sit beside the sea in her car to watch the live draw. At 8 pm, we were both sitting there hand-in-hand, wishing the other would win the competition.
Never in a million years did we think that one of our names would be called out! When mine was called, we both instantly started shaking and crying in complete disbelief. To be honest, the whole experience only became real on the day of actually collecting Aurora.
I can’t even begin to explain how this has changed my life, I’m so happy! Aurora is now my new home, and I look forward to taking her on many adventures with my best friend and my children.”

The bottom rear bed can also be utilised as a ‘lounging’ area where the bed converts into a small sofa on either side.
